Nicholas Comfort uses the experience gained from his career at the highest levels in journalism, politics and government as a writer, consultant and trainer.
In three busy decades he has :-
- Written editorials for both the Daily Telegraph and the Sun
- Contributed to every section of the Telegraph, mainly as one of its political team and currently as an obituary writer
- Been political editor of the Independent on Sunday, the Daily Record and The European
- Covered the White House and EU affairs and reported from over 30 countries
- Been Special Adviser to the Secretary of State for Scotland
- Advised the Department of Trade and Industry on European strategy and presentation
- Media-trained Zambian Cabinet Ministers, aerospace industry executives and journalists and politicians in former Soviet republics
- Written speeches for Government Ministers and leading business figures
- Written and broadcast extensively on politics, government and his specialist subject, transport
- Developed a public affairs capability for QinetiQ
- Revised and updated Dr. Alex Comfort's classic The Joy of Sex when his father's last illness prevented him doing it himself
Nicholas Comfort's principal role at present is as a consultant on public relations to the Association of Train Operating Companies. He also undertakes media training and lectures on the workings of government for UK and overseas clients.
